Just Because Laney Bug Card

This is the first Easel Card I have ever made.  I really wanted to make one for a little angel's parents that lost their 3 year old daughter.  Her name is Delaney Wadsworth they called her Laney Bug because she loves Ladybugs.  Delaney passed away 2 weeks ago due to 100% fatal brain tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).  If you are interest in her story you can find her journey on Facebook at Prayers for Delaney.  You can also read an awesome article view pictures and watch a video of her here.  There is an address for the family on her facebook page and in the article at the link above if you are interested in sending her family a card.

I made this card for Delaney's family but also wanted to incorporate it into challenges to try and bring more awareness for DIPG.  I realize it is not a traditional type of card for a grieving family but it is what I felt I had to create with her in mind.

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #6: Feathered Friends

I made this card for the Circle Weekly Challenge.  I used the Flamingo Digi and Sentiment from Digital Delights.  They have the cutest Digis there and they give away a freebie every week.  I colored the Flamingo with Martha Stewart Pencils and Markers.  I also used my Home Decor' Cart to make the frame around the Flamingo and my Everyday Paper Dolls to make the bow.  I used Matha Stewart glitter on the bow, i-rock for the gems, My Minds Eye Organic Glitter Paper and white snowflake buttons that I inked red then wiped off with a tissue to get the pinkish color.  I inked and sewed around the sentiment.  I probably would have done more sewing if it would have worked better for me.  I did a trial run and it worked perfect until I tried it on the actual card then tension wasn't right.  Go Figure :)  Well...Thanks for looking and if you joined in on the Challenge...Good Luck!

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #3: AUTUMN SPLENDOR!

I made my card for the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #3: AUTUMN SPLENDOR!  I really enjoyed making this card Gate fold pop up card because I love fall and I have never made anything for this season before now.  I made a Gate Fold Card and then decided to change it up a little by having it open the opposite way and leaving a couple inches on one side that would not open.  I wanted to make my digi stamp pop up when the card is opened.  The free digi stamp I used is from an awesome site you can find here http://www.digitaldelightsbyloubyloo.com/   This is the second digi stamp I have tried.  I really love digi stamps I just need to get better at it and find some good markers or pencils that would be easier for me to work with that don't cost a fortune.  Hope you like the card and TFL!!

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #2 Think Pink!

This is my card for the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #2 Think Pink!  I had a lot of fun doing the card.  I really need better markers for blending....maybe I didn't use the correct paper?  I went for somewhat of a distressed look on different parts of the card so I wasn't trying to make it perfect anyway.  For at least 3 requirements in the challenge I used pink, scallop, jewels, & glitter.  I only had three cuts with my Cricut but the challenge only called for 2.  Be gentle on me I have never done digi stamping before and this was a cute freebie I decided to try.  TFL
